AMSRO continues to support our members through the pandemic. October is Mental Health Month* and AMSRO is pleased to present this special, one-hour free webinar which addresses the unique psychosocial risks associated with COVID-19.

In association with specialist psychological consultancy Communicorp and presented by Principal Consultant Psychologist, Justin Simmonds, this webinar is aimed exclusively at leaders and senior managers.

Justin will explore how we, as humans, react to uncertainty and the dangers associated with physical isolation and remote working.  The webinar will also cover practical strategies for leaders to:

  • monitor and support their mental health
  • maintain a social connection during physical isolation
  • cope with change
  • sit with fear and uncertainty.

There will be time for participants to ask direct questions and gain practical, personal experience and helpful tips.

Justin is a highly experienced clinical psychologist with over 20 years’ experience consulting to organisations. He has worked extensively with emergency services and Defence, specialising in critical incident and trauma management.

Justin has trained thousands of professionals across Australia and internationally in areas such as managing mental health, dealing with stress, conflict management and building emotional resilience. Success has been due to ensuring interactive and practical sessions, focussing on skill development, building confidence and targeting participant needs.

Organisations Justin has supported over the years include Qantas, PWC, Telstra, the NRL, KPMG, AFL, and a range of government departments such as NSW Police, Sydney Trains, Department of Immigration and Border Protection and the Australian Federal Police.

October is Mental Health Month *This awareness month encourages all of us to think about our mental health and wellbeing, regardless of whether we may have a lived experience of mental illness or not. This month also gives us the opportunity to understand the importance of mental health in our everyday lives and encourages help-seeking behaviours when needed.
