Construction of Boya Community Hub begins

CONSTRUCTION of the state-of-the-art Boya Community Hub has now begun. The $7.4million Boya Community Hub will be built alongside Boya Oval and provide a brand new library and hall space for our community.

This will replace tired halls in Greenmount and Boya, and see Katharine Susannah Prichard Library on Scott Street shifted to the new facility once construction has finished. This is expected to occur in early to mid 2017. Badge Constructions was awarded the project tender in October and began work on 11 January. Read more here.

Controlling blackberry on your property

LANDHOLDERS in the Shire of Mundaring are encouraged to control any blackberry on their properties this summer. Blackberry is an invasive shrub that forms dense thickets along creeklines and is recognised as a major pest around the country. October until April is the perfect time to control the weed as it does most of its growing in
summer. For more information, click here.
