AU SUMMER UNIVERSITY 2014
AU Summer University offers over 70 English-taught summer courses at a Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD level. The available courses are of a very international nature and are taught by highly qualified Danish lecturers, as well as international guest lecturers. The available courses also cover a wide academic field including courses from Arts, Business and Economics, Business Communication, Political Science and Law, Health, Science and Technology.
AU Summer University welcomes Danish and international full-time students, exchange students and free movers. Along with the academic programme, we offer accommodation service, visa service, and a social programme for both lecturers and students.

INTRODUCTION DAY FOR NEW EMPLOYEES AT AU
On April 7 new employees to Aarhus University can get knowledge and insights into the organisation and practical aspects of working at AU.
The programme begins at 9am and ends at 2pm. During the day the new employees will meet the senior management at AU, and be introduced to the university's overall strategies and values. There will be an opportunity to gain insight into the organisational structure, liaison committees, the union representatives, and rules and guidelines for employees at AU. The new employee will also gain the opportunity of creating their first network of colleagues in the organisation.

If you are interested in taking Danish language courses but you missed the deadline to sign up, we have good news for you.
Lærdansk has agreed to have another session that would take place during week 12 on Tuesdays and Thursdays if enough people sign up for it.
If you are interested in this opportunity, you may contact Bent Frederiksen by email (bent.frederiksen@adm.laerdansk.dk) about this possibility and to get further information about the courses.

GETTING STARTED IN DENMARK
Getting Started in Denmark is an event organised by International Academic Staff Services (IAS) that offers orientation and registration for newly arrived internationals. This is an event for newly arrived PhD students, researchers and their spouses. The event is held the first and third Friday of the month from 9 am to 12 pm. The next event will take place on Friday February 21, 2014.
The event provides you with important on-arrival information and provides you the opportunity to get registered with the public authorities for your EU residence certificate, CPR number and tax card. The goal of the event is to aid you in making a smoother transition to Denmark. This event is divided in two sections which take place at two different locations.
In our attempt to reach all of our International AU staff and PhD's, we kindly ask you to spread the word to your newly arrived colleagues and those who may benefit from this event. Your help will be greatly appreciated. We have now posted the dates for the full spring and summer sessions in the Getting Started section of our webpage. Here's a look at the program and how to sign up:

FOLKEUNIVERSITETET IN ENGLISH - NEW PROGRAMME OUT NOW!
Visit Folkeuniversitetet (The Danish University Extension) in English in Herning or Aarhus and experience researchers explain the recent theories, methods and results within their scientific area.
The lectures are for everyone interested in gaining new knowledge and inspiration in an international context - and Folkeuniversitetet welcomes both internationals and Danes. All lectures are free and you can sign up for a single evening or multiple days.
