Mentoring is typically a longer-term relationship where the mentor is more skilled or knowledgeable in a specific area than the mentee and focuses on a transfer of skill or knowledge. A coach's role differs from that of a mentor, in that the coach will partner with the coachee to facilitate learning by using professional techniques. Coaching and mentoring is available to all employees throughout the University group, who have passed their probationary period and have the support of their manager to engage in the process, to work in a focused way on achieving their development aspirations. Interns in Organisation DevelopmentThank you to our interns for their valuable contributions during their time with us. Muhammad Johan Adeli | MSc Business and Organisation Psychology with Professional Experience For my professional experience, I have worked with Organisation Development. It was an excellent opportunity for me, as an international student, to work in a UK institution. I was involved in many projects like the staff conference, teaching observation, CQEM project for Curriculum 2025, data analysis and process, and staff development seminars. I will apply what I learned about the workplace and will try to find a job around the world so I can learn a new culture and environment. Li Rao | MSc Business and Organisational Psychology with Professional Experience Since June of this year I have been working with OD by getting involved in data processing as well as development workshop programmes, from which I have learned a lot about how to improve my teaching skill. Moreover, I am also working as a tutor teaching Japanese language. With all those experiences, I have got to know what the working environment is like in Britain. So I will compare the difference between the UK and China with regard to organisation management in my dissertation. I will make full use of this experience and use it as the valuable inclusion in my future work. My name is Rebecca Johnson and I am Assistant Professor of Public Health in the School of Nursing Midwifery and Health. I have a background in Sociology, Public Health and completed my PhD in Health Sciences in 2014. When did you get your SFHEA recognition? I received my SFHEA in November 2019. Why is this important for you? It was important to me to ensure that I maintain a high standard of pedagogical practice in my teaching. Part of this is creating opportunities for reflective practice, and I saw the application of SFHEA as such an opportunity. Obtaining my SFHEA also helps me to consolidate what I have achieved as a teacher, and helps me to set the goals I would like to achieve related to my teaching. |
