Sid Shares #10SidShares Hi All! I’m 10! Here is my tenth monthly dose of “Sid Shares.” A list of what I’m enjoying and exploring. WOW…what a month March was! I’m not going to dwell on what’s going on...it's really tough...and thank goodness for our amazing NHS. This month I’m going to focus on the ‘good stuff’ and how we can keep moving forward and thinking positively. I know, it’s not easy but…let’s focus April on ‘Possibilities’. Bear with me... I came across a great question the other day and I’ve been asking myself this everyday since. It’s “What made you smile today?” It’s from a TEDx talk by Mark Goulston. It’s brilliant as you get to notice the little things that really do make you smile. The other day our daughter Bea leant to scooter! She’s nearly 2 and the delight on her face really made me smile so very much. And it still does. So, right now ask yourself ‘What made me smile today?’ And ask those around you. You’ll be amazed how infectious it is, and becomes. Definitely something that’s safe to pass on to others… This is a film that I came across quite a while ago. I watched it again recently after reading a wonderful article from Pocket called ‘Six NASA Astronauts Describe the Moment in Space When “Everything Changed”'. It reminded me about Carl Sagan’s ‘Pale Blue Dot’, which is truly amazing. Please do take 3.26 minutes and watch it…it really does make one think about our wonderful planet, the ‘now’ and ‘possibilities’! What can be challenging is what to look to when we’re being challenged. And, how do we start to think, or behave, more positively to get the ‘good stuff’ going again. One activity we created at Meee was a Values Card exercise. We have actual packs of Meee Values Cards that you go through to determine what your Values are. We’ve created an online version of them and as part of the ‘good stuff’ for April here’s a code to do the exercise for FREE. I think you’ll love it, as it’s a great way to really understand what your Values are. And, what you can go back to when you’re being challenged. Click Here and the code to use is 9CC9E4…but it’s limited to the first 20 explorers. I hope you enjoy it! A poem that I adore is all about Smiling. It was supposedly written by Spike Milligan and is infectious…in a good way. Happy smiling ☺ I recently finished reading Eckhart Tolle’s brilliant book 'The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment'. It's one of those books that I thought I had read, but hadn't. Well, what an absolute cracker...deep, expansive, spiritual, intrusive, amazing, reflective, scary, life-changing, fundamental, foundational...are just a few words I can think that describes it for me. If you get a chance please do read it. And, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what you think about it. "I keep Eckhart's book at my bedside. I think it's essential spiritual teaching. It's one of the most valuable books I've ever read." Oprah Winfrey
If you would like to, please give me feedback on email, Twitter or Facebook on any of the topics above. Or any thoughts you have or suggestions for the future. If you would like more information about Meee and the resources please follow this link. Here’s to smiling more in April and getting through this together. We are all family. We have one planet. We all feel pain. We all feel love. We are all truly together. With love and blessings xxx |
