  • Brother of Robert and Jan, Robyn and Peter.
  • Adopted Father to Vinodini, Kat, Heidi, Taryn, Chris, S, L, (refugees, names withheld)
  • and Coach/Mentor to many.

Terry was active in several Walk to Emmaus communities, serving in every role over time. In the last weeks of his life, he was discussing plans for planting new home (reunion) groups. He sponsored more than forty pilgrims, most of whom are now serving in key lay or ordained leadership settings.

Terry’s Church service included councils of and committees in four Presbyteries within the Synod of NSW/ACT, the Congregations of Lindfield St. David's, Chatswood-Willoughby (also employed as the churches’ Administrator for both English and Korean-speaking congregations), Turramurra, North Ryde, Hamilton Wesley, Wesley Samoan and Broadmeadow (Newcastle), Pilgrim (Adelaide), Leigh Fijian (Parramatta Mission).

He assisted Rev John Mallison with production of the now classic ‘Mentoring’ and contributed to content in that volume at several points. He was one of the founders of The Commons Faith Community in the Hunter, training in community leadership with the Walk to Emmaus Movement, Sydney Alliance and participating in Mission-Shaped case study work in the UK and Australia. He also represented the UCA as a member of a 14-person, 5 nations Peace Observer team in Northern Ireland, post the 2000 ‘Belfast Easter Agreement’.

He volunteered for countless NCYCs, Easter Camps, Conferences and Retreats and was awarded the title of ‘honorary Queer’ by Daring, Uniting Network/Unity and Friends. He acted as BULA guide for visiting musicians, missiologists, theologians, liturgists, godly players and speakers from eight countries. He has wooed and evangelized professors, divas, state-of-origin players, General Secretaries, Bishops, Muftis, Cantors and Cardinals.

Terry served in a Property Officer role in three Presbyteries and consulted for various Synod Boards. He formally mentored six people undertaking the Period of Discernment. His pastoral ministry with other ministry spouses and their families extended across every UCA Synod and a dozen or more countries.

During recent years, he has managed multiple online support groups and exercised a cancer companion role with numerous others.

Terry was Coach and cheerleader for Amelia’s different ministries over 28 years. Together they shared a special ministry teaching couples to dance for their weddings.

After six+ years, eight hospitals, seven clinics, countless scans and consultations, Terry’s Beyond Blue ministry with patients, carers and staff, is handed over with the tagline…

What does the Lord require of you?
To act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with your God.    Micah 6:8
