Marloo Theatre presents Robin Hood

Mundaring Arts Centre - Make Your Own Deadly Denim Jacket

Saturday 6 March
Up-cycle an old, unused or op-shopped denim jacket, adorning it with amazing First Nations designs in this 3 hour workshop with Deadly Denim’s Rebecca Rickard. Learn to design, cut and sew new deadly panels on your jacket, choosing from a wide range of fabric designs from Remote Aboriginal art centres. Open to participants of all abilities. BYO Jacket.

Deadly Denim was founded by Rebecca Rickard a Ballardong, Whadjuk woman from the Nyungar nation living and working on country Perth. Workshop runs 12pm-3pm.

Mundaring Hills Open Studios 2021

Saturday 20 March through to Sunday 28 March 2021

The Mundaring Hills Open Studios event is an art trail in the Perth Hills that gives local artists the opportunity to open their studios and share their work and environment with fellow artists and visitors. This year you can visit 24 studios to view the works of the 49 artists participating to gain an insight into their work environment, skills and methods.

The Mundaring Hill Open Studios will give you access to art work in an incredibly broad range of medium – from glass and ceramics to oil painting, watercolours, textiles, sculpture in wood and recycled metals, jewellery, textiles, photography and much more.

The Big Relief - Parkerville Tavern Fund Raiser for Volunteer Firies

Saturday 20 March
The Parky is hosting a massive benefit concert with 10 live bands, (all of whom have donated their time to the cause), playing from 11am-9pm. There'll be silent auctions, door prizes and raffles. All funds raised, including the tavern's profits from the day, will be donated to local Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades and to the Lord Mayor’s Disaster Relief Appeal, to help those who suffered property losses. $5 donation entry fee for adults on the door. Short Street Kitchen - Dairy Free Cheesemaking workshop

This introductory workshop is all about learning how to make dairy free cheese from scratch using whole foods. Sample everything as you go, but save room for a nourishing brunch after a walk around the gardens and orchards.

Mundaring District Museum - Head for the Hills -Chidlow's WW2 Army Camps

Exhibition runs throughout the month
‘Head for the Hills’, is a collaboration between Mundaring & Hills Historical Society, Friends of the Chidlow WW2 Camps and Heritage Detection Australia. Using artefacts recently retrieved from Chidlow’s former WW2 Army Camps, the exhibition highlights their role in defending Australia following Japan’s entry into WW2 in December 1941. With c. 50 000 troops passing through the Camps from March 1942 until June 1944, the significance of these camps in understanding the military heritage of WA is clear.
