How long has it been??

I can't believe that my last newsletter was in January! Is it me, or is time going by at a ridiculous pace?

Since my last newsletter, we had a Smokies winter shoot out, been to Charleston, the Smokies, Cape May, and just got back from our Finger Lakes workshop. It used to feel like workshops lasted a full five days. Now, they go by in a flash.

More than ever, there is not enough time for the tasks at hand.

We have only a few spaces left in our 2016 Nature/ Location photography workshop locations. Please let us know if you have any questions or need more info.

Lead image processed in Aurora HDR. Shot at Grandfather Mountain, NC. Their annual Nature Photography weekend is June 3-5 (this coming weekend).

Cool products to check out:

Induro GT404XL Tripod - my new main tripod. Tall, moderately light, large knobs, and very easy to clean. Highly recommended.

New Bag - Check out the new Mindshift 180 Rotation Pro! I've paired down a bit and this bag is perfect. Spoiler Alert...check out the "rotation" part.

Xume Adapters - These are on all of my filters. Quite simply, there are 2 magnetic adapters: one for the lens and one for the filter. No more filters cross threading. No more stuck filters. Discount code "sweet10" for 10% discount.

Topaz Impression is a new favorite plug in, working nicely when blended (various opacities and blend modes) with the original. Use discount code, "tonysweet," for a 10% disc.

There are many more hardware and software discounts available HERE.

That's about it for now.

I'm always aware of the imperfections in our digital media. For that reason, I'll always shoot at least 2 exposures of every image I make. I've had occasion when a keeper image had red streaks and static lines through the image. This is as sector error on the card. Nothing's perfect. So, to elimate that being an issue, I'll shoot 2 or more images of each scene. Easy and cheap insurance.

Also, I only use cameras with 2 card slots, where I can program the slots to write the exact same data. I use 2 64GB cards, writing the same data to each. There's never enough redundancy.
