Welcome to Issue #04 of Habitat 2013

Message from the Director

This Generator, Bachelor of Environments Magazine, is hot off the press. It includes stories from our Capstone subjects. I particularly enjoyed reading the diary notes from some of our graduates out in the workforce.

This publication records the rich voices of our students. Here are a few snapshots:

'My advice to students thinking about exchange is… absolutely go for it! Also join in with everything you possible can on campus.'
Rachel Butler who completed the Landscape Architecture major

'The Bachelor of Environments helped prepare me for many challenges by equipping me with a wide range of skills; some as basic as communication.'
Kharéce d’Souza - Masters of Engineering (Geomatics)

‘The Bachelor of Environments … puts what you are studying in a global context, so you can see how your area of study fits in with other disciplines.’
Beatrix Spencer - Masters of Environment

Announcement for students undertaking the Construction major

The Faculty intends to offer ABPL30038 Concrete Structures and Construction only in Semester 2 from 2014 onwards, instead of both Semester 1 and 2.

Construction students are recommended to plan ahead for this change.

As the subject is a prerequisite for your final semester subject ABPL30044 Project Planning Studio, we advise eligible Construction students to take ABPL30038 Concrete Structures and Construction in Semester 2 this year.

Second year Construction students who do not complete ABPL30038 Concrete Structures and Construction in Semester 2 2013 will delay their course completion.
