Welcome to Issue #03 of Habitat 2013

Message from the Director

We are midway through the semester. I hope your studies are going well. Sometimes students think that great results are primarily about aptitude. I suggest the main ingredients behind success are hard work, self-motivation, passion and drive as well as excellent time juggling.

This week, at the annual Dean’s Honours event, we recognise and celebrate the successes of our highest achieving students within each year of our degree. Their results are outstanding.

It is an added pleasure when our students receive national recognition. Last week, one of our BEnvs graduates Sarah Rees was awarded the 2013 Charlie Perkins Scholarship.  This prestigious scholarship assists Indigenous Australians to study at Oxford or Cambridge. Sarah is one of just nine students to be awarded this prestigious scholarship since its inception three years ago.

Congratulations to Sarah and other award winners recognised at the Dean’s Honours Awards.

Director, Bachelor of Environments
