2. ASF rises again in China, other parts of Asia: OIE

The outbreak of African Swine Fever first reported in China in August 2018 is recurring in areas where the disease was thought to have run its course, and in other Asia-Pacific nations, according to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).

3. Australian illnesses linked to US enoki mushroom Listeria outbreak

An outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes has recently been identified in the US related to consumption of fresh enoki mushrooms imported from South Korea.

4. WHO issues guidance note for food safety controls

However, ensuring a continuous and safe food supply is a critical issue for the health of all people, everywhere, and a new guidance note from FAO/WHO offers advice to authorities on how to optimize food controls during the crisis.

6. Listeria in frozen vegetables: how to reduce risks

EFSA has assessed the risks to public health from Listeria contamination of vegetables that are blanched before they are frozen. They conclude that the risks associated with the consumption of these products is lower than for ready-to-eat foods.

7. Study reveals raw dog food as major source of multidrug-resistant bacteria

Resistance to six types of antibiotics has been discovered in several raw-type dog food samples, with researchers warning resistance could be transmitted to humans from canines.
