We’re working together through the unprecedented challenges presented by COVID-19, with Council proposing a draft budget that offers financial hardship relief while ensuring we continue to provide the services that our city needs to function.

Riverside Precinct plans power ahead
The transformation of the Murray foreshore near the Albury Swim Centre will accelerate in the upcoming financial year when we begin construction of our Riverside Precinct, including a boardwalk, picnic facilities, river access for pedestrians and boats, and other improvements.

The Thurgoona Link Roads project will provide a major step towards meeting the transport requirements of a rapidly-growing community.

Walkers and cyclists are in for a treat when a twelve-kilometre extension of the stunning Wagirra Trail is completed.

Our new Wonga Visitor Information Centre will open up an educational doorway to one of our ecological jewels, the spectacular Wonga Wetlands. Including a large venue space, the centre will entertain and educate an estimated 4,000 visitors per month.

Car park investigation
In the new financial year we'll examine the potential for a huge parking boost in the CBD through the addition of at least one more level on the Wilson Street car park.

Intersection for the future
A major redevelopment of the Elizabeth Mitchell/Thurgoona Drive intersection will provide transport infrastructure for future generations in our fastest-growing community.

Hillside adventures
A major audit of the tracks and trails on Nail Can Hill will ensure continued community access to bushland adventures right on our doorstep.

Art house
The old pump house in Waterworks Road will be transformed from an industrial workhorse into a hub for creators and artists.

We can look forward to a fitter, cleaner and more connected community under plans to build cycle paths in the Albury and Lavington CBDs.

Skate park plans on a roll
Skaters and riders will have a state-of-the-art place to hone their skills when the Albury Regional Skate Park is developed. The project, on the site of the old skate bowl in David Street, has been designed in consultation with users and will include two covered bowls, a half-basketball court and fitness equipment.

Come and play
Thurgoona residents will have a chance to help design their own play space for kids when we develop a new playground at Murray Park.

Safer streets
New CCTV installations in the Albury city centre will eliminate coverage blackspots and help police to prevent crime.

An investigation into the potential of improved public wifi in community spaces is one of the ways we're embracing smart city technology.

Every dog (and owner) will have its day under plans to build a new off-leash area with exercise equipment at a site to be chosen in Thurgoona.

In the upcoming financial year we'll continue the transformation of Lavington Sports Ground into one of regional Australia's best.

Keene for progress
Keene Street in East Albury will be safer and smoother when a major redevelopment of the road, including the replacement of the footpath, is carried out.

Emergency centre
Our region will be better placed to respond to fires, weather disasters and other emergencies when we redevelop the emergency management centre at the airport.
