First GCN FirePro graphics solution targets digital signage and display walls
22 million digital signs expected by 2015: $4.5 billion market in retail, corporate, transportation & health care
This past month AMD announced the FirePro W600 for the digital signage and display wall markets. It is the first single card solution capable of driving up to 6 six displays or projectors (16K X 16K pixels). The $599 28nm GCN-based card offers 2GB of memory and 6 Mini DisplayPorts to drive the large display area at high performance levels.
Later this year, AMD will add support for projection edge blending and image warping, which will make it even easier to setup projectors in SLS configurations.

UniVisual installed a multi-projector curved screen at the Digital Art Center in Sweden. The screen is 3 meters high, 7.3 meters wide and covers 120 degrees. It is projected using 6 full HD projectors connected to a single PC with an AMD FirePro V9800 graphics card. Read more »
