An Update from our CEO

As we recap recent activity and look ahead to another important month for Wyndham, I am pleased to share a newsletter that reflects the strength, ambition and collaboration of our business community.

In recent weeks, Committee for Wyndham has brought people together around the issues and opportunities shaping our region. Our East Werribee Precinct Roundtable at Victoria University’s Werribee Campus brought key leaders together for a constructive discussion on the future of this important health, education, research and employment hub. The perspectives shared will help inform our advocacy as we continue working with government and partners to unlock East Werribee’s full potential.

We also welcomed Corporate Plus and Corporate members behind the scenes at Amazon’s fulfilment centre, where attendees saw firsthand the innovation, technology and precision behind one of the world’s most advanced warehousing and logistics operations. These opportunities connect our members with leading organisations, practical learning and new ways of thinking.

I am delighted to welcome our newest members, Navitas and Scott Legal — Lawyers & Advisors, and to acknowledge Victoria University’s upgrade to Major Strategic Partner. We also thank Kenstra, Mercy Health, Capture Recruitment, M&C Accountants and Sanctuary Lakes Resort for renewing their Memberships. Our members are central to our work, and I encourage organisations across Wyndham and beyond to consider how membership can support their connections, profile and contribution to our region’s future.

This month’s member spotlights showcase meaningful work across our community, including St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee and GenesisCare’s investment in local cancer care, and CDC Australia’s moving national ANZAC Day commemorative campaign.

Finally, I encourage you to secure your place at our State Treasurer Budget Lunch on Wednesday, 10 June 2026. This is Wyndham’s only opportunity to hear directly from the Victorian State Treasurer, The Hon. Jaclyn Symes MP, about the 2026–27 State Budget and what it means for our region. The event is open to the entire business community, and you do not need to be a Committee for Wyndham member to attend.

Seats are strictly limited, and I look forward to seeing many of you there as we continue working together to advance Wyndham’s future.

Yours sincerely,

Leanne Down CEO, Committee for Wyndham

East Werribee Precinct Roundtable:
Driving Collaboration and Future Growth

Committee for Wyndham recently brought together leaders from organisations operating across the East Werribee precinct for a roundtable focused on the future of this growing hub.

Held at Victoria University’s Werribee Campus, the roundtable provided a valuable forum for open and constructive discussion. Conversations were honest, forward-focused and highlighted both the significant opportunities and key challenges shaping the future of East Werribee.

There was strong alignment across the room on the importance of collaboration to unlock the precinct’s full potential, particularly as it continues to grow as a major hub for health, education, research and employment in Wyndham.

Importantly, these discussions help ensure that the voices of those directly connected to East Werribee inform the advocacy priorities we take forward with all levels of government.

We look forward to continuing this momentum at the upcoming East Werribee Summit in the second half of the year, where business, government and community will again come together to shape the future of this key precinct.

More details on the Summit to come.

Amazon Unboxed: Behind the Scenes Tour

On 29 April, Committee for Wyndham welcomed Corporate Plus and Corporate members to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of an Amazon fulfilment centre.

This unique opportunity gave attendees a first-hand look at the scale, innovation and precision that underpins one of the world’s most advanced logistics operations.
From towering racking systems to sophisticated robotics and fast-moving conveyor networks, members experienced how technology and people work seamlessly together to process and deliver customer orders.

The tour highlighted how products move from online cart to doorstep, showcasing the efficiency, coordination and continuous improvement that drives Amazon’s operations.

Events like this give members the opportunity to step inside leading organisations, gain practical understanding and better appreciate the systems shaping modern industry.

Investment in Cancer Care for Wyndham Community

Significant progress is underway on a new radiation therapy centre in Werribee, set to improve cancer care access for Wyndham residents.

Delivered in partnership between Committee for Wyndham member St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee and GenesisCare, the centre is expected to be completed in mid-2026. A key milestone has been reached with the installation of $5 million in advanced cancer treatment technology, including a state-of-the-art linear accelerator for highly precise radiation therapy.

Once open, the centre will enable local patients to receive treatment closer to home, reducing the need to travel outside the region. It will also offer surface-guided radiotherapy and on-site CT scanning to support a wide range of cancer treatments.

The facility will be the first of its kind in Wyndham and will contribute to one of the most comprehensive oncology services in Melbourne’s western suburbs, while also creating more than 20 skilled local jobs.

CDC Australia Pays Tribute to ANZACS with
National Commemorative Campaign

ComfortDelGro Australia (CDC) marked ANZAC Day with a national rollout of custom exterior wraps across its fleet, featuring silhouettes of Australian diggers, poppies, an Australian sunrise and the words “Lest We Forget.” What began in 2024 with two buses in NSW, has now grown into a nationwide initiative.

A total of 15 vehicles — including CDC buses across five states and territories, as well as 13cabs taxis in Brisbane and Sydney— will carry the commemorative design. The idea originated in 2024 from CDC NSW drivers who wanted to honour colleagues who had served and pay respect to all Australians who have served or currently serve in the Australian Defence Forces. Its success at state level has led to the campaign being extended to communities across the country.

The wrapped vehicles are already on the road and featured prominently in ANZAC Day ceremonies nationwide. CDC’s bus businesses also provided free shuttle services to ANZAC Day events in Canberra and Victoria, and transported veterans attending the Lest We Forget Sunset Tribute service in Sydney on Anzac Eve.

The designs are expected to remain in place in Victoria for a few more months.
