Kia ora ,

Auckland moves to Alert Level 4 at 11:59pm tonight for 7 days

Earlier tonight, Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern announced New Zealand's move to Alert Level 4 for 3 days while Auckland and Coromandel will move to Alert Level 4 for 7 days following a confirmed community case.

The confirmed case showed symptoms and was tested on Monday.  While the delta-variant cannot be confirmed until genome sequencing results return tomorrow, the Government is expecting that it will be the delta variant and as such is treating it so.

Online/Off-campus learning

All Unitec campuses are fully closed from 11:59pm tonight

  • There are NO classes tomorrow (Wednesday 18 August) so we can all prepare accordingly to live, study and work from home in Alert Level 4 over the next week.
  • Any online teaching for the remainder of the week will be communicated directly from your lecturer.  Please also keep an eye on moodle updates for your programme.
  • All classes are expected to be teaching online from Monday where possible.
  • Following guidance and Alert Level restrictions, Unitec will communicate how teaching and learning will progress as we step down Alert Levels.

Please also prepare in the event Auckland remains off-campus beyond the next 7 days.
