This week, we are also holding our first CaRST Information Session of the year and I encourage anyone who wants to become more familiar with the CaRST program requirements to attend or tune into the live stream. How to Plan your PhDA PhD is a major undertaking yet many people spend more time planning a weekend away than they do planning the next three years of their life. Working with your Supervisor - Faculty of Health and Medical SciencesThe relationship you have with your supervisor is crucial in determining your PhD experience. They are your primary source of guidance as you undertake an individual research project and even the best student/supervisor relationships can experience periods of strain through the ups and downs of research. Improving your Financial LiteracyAccounting may be viewed by many as a rather dry, boring subject that should be relegated to the domain of those commonly referred to as ‘bean counters’. But financial literacy should be everyone’s business, most careers require some level of financial understanding. This activity counts for 2 credits in Domain C. Introduction to SPSS for StatisticsSPSS is a widely used program for statistical analyses. This workshop presented by the School of Mathematical Sciences is aimed at HDR students with a need for statistical analysis using SPSS but who have limited experience with this software. NewsCareer Control for Researchers - Open for Expressions of InterestThe next Career Control for Reserachers program is now open for Expressions of Interest from HDR students. Career Control for Researchers is an 8 week online program designed to give HDR students the tools, guidance and confidence to take charge of their career direction, determine their own priorities and accelerate their progress. The program will run from 7 May 2-19 - 28 June 2019. For more information and to register your interest in the program, visit the Career Control for Researchers webpage. Expressions of interest will be accepted until 16 April 2019. This program counts for 13 credits in Domain B. Getting Published as an Early Career ResearcherWiley Publishers, in partnership with the University of Adelaide Library present an event featuring a panel of prominent journal editors, publishing experts and research publishing professionals. The speakers will provide insight from their different perspectives in the world of research publishing and share information they wish they’d known as an Early Career Researcher. Join us in finding out how to address the challenges you face in trying to get your research published.
