We have reflected on the Passion of Christ from Palm Sunday through to His death and triumphant resurrection. Our learning has been that Easter is about transformation. We find ourselves now in a time of transformation which is not an easy process and involves feelings of confusion, discomfort, challenge and ambiguity. If we work through these patiently with the support of those around us there is a great chance we emerge transformed, joyful, confident and with a deeper sense of ourselves and our faith. The Sister’s of the Holy Family of Nazareth charism of ‘finding God in the everyday’ is a great guide for us. This Easter I will be joining my Parish community at online Mass 9.30 Sunday Morning at Our Lady of Grace Parish and will be thinking of and praying for all our School and Parish families and school staff. If you are able to join online, I look forward to celebrating Mass with you at that time. All parents would have received a letter explaining that our school, along with all Catholic Schools will be open in Term 2 for children of essential workers and those who are unable to look after their children due to employment. If you are able to work from home it is expected you will keep your children at home. A survey will be sent for an indication of how many families will fall into the essential worker category. Children of essential workers & those who can’t work from home who will be attending school will be using the same remote learning packages & online learning as those students at home. We will miss our children at the beginning of Term 2 however, here are some of the ways OLG Staff will be supporting you at home; · ACE Your Day the OLG Way - a flexible home learning timetable that emphasizes academic, creative and exercise as a normal part of the day I would like to acknowledge all the staff of Our Lady of Grace School, including our Administration staff, our Pastoral Care staff, our Education Assistants, Canteen staff, our specialist teachers, our classroom teachers, our groundsman and gardener as well as the Assistant Principals for their incredible efforts over this term. Their enthusiasm, dedication, adaptability and professionalism has been evident each day. I wish our staff and all our children and families a restful break from learning. We will be launching our remote learning work on the first day of Term 2 through our new website. May Easter be a transforming time for you and your family as you share in the Easter story of ultimate love and new life. Please keep our school community, all health workers, our parishioners, and our global family in your thoughts and prayers.
