Delayed Orgasms: What Might Brain Imaging Tell Us?

The brains of men with delayed orgasm might respond differently to sexual stimuli compared to men with normal orgasmic function, a recent Journal of Sexual Medicine study suggests.

The exploratory study analyzed fMRI results of three men with delayed orgasm and six men without the condition. Each man viewed a series of three video clips: one clip was neutral, one was sexual, and one was humorous, but not sexual.

Men with delayed orgasm had increased activation in two brain areas that were not affected in the control group.
