Adult Learners Week 2024 will showcase across Australia the journey that anyone – regardless of their age or stage in life – can take through adult education.

“Adult and community education is for everyone, including people who struggled with learning at school or haven’t been involved in education for a long time," said CEO, Jenny Macaffer.

“Adult learning is about connecting with other people and developing the skills and confidence to be part of local communities – it can also hugely help with physical and mental health and wellbeing.”

Adult Learners Week gives adult and community education providers the chance to promote the huge range of learning opportunities on offer in safe, friendly, flexible places in local communities.

Meeting new people, feeling a sense of belonging and achievement and discovering new self-confidence are just some of the positive side-effects of taking the transformative journey into learning as an adult.

By highlighting the huge range of creative, inspiring, fun and practical learning opportunities available in communities across the country, Adult Learners Week aims to entice people to take up, or return to, learning no matter their age, their background or previous educational history.

Register your event

That's why it's so important to get your #ALW2024 events registered on the Adult Learners Week website.

Plus if you register your event/s before 7 August you will have the chance to win 1 of 20 x $200 grants to support your event.

This is your chance to promote the important work you do engaging adults into learning programs that can transform their lives.

Celebrate your learners

Adult Learners Week is also a great time to celebrate your adult learners. There are 3 x $1000 #ALW2024 scholarships on offer for outstanding adult learners. A scholarship could enable them to take a new learning pathway or continue on an existing one.

We are inviting adult education providers around Australia to nominate a learner whose commitment and motivation makes them stand out from the rest. Applications close on 27 August.
