Business owners can opt-in to receive alerts such as works programs, beach and road closures, severe weather warnings and key events that may impact their business and customers. For those interacting with tourists, the app provides the latest events and things to do plus links to airport arrivals and departures, weather, Council’s eLibrary services, Cairns Arts and Culture Map and the Cairns Disaster Dashboard. My Cairns also makes it easier for businesses to report a problem by using the device’s in-built camera to snap a photo of the issue and send it straight to Council at any time of the day. The free My Cairns can be used on iOS and Android devices and is available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play. Innovation Awards Workshops & Presentation EveningTropical North Queensland Innovation Awards will present the following three workshops in partnership with Ignite FNQ and the Cairns Chamber of Commerce. Have your say on Cairns CBD Drainage WorksCouncil is seeking information from the the business community about flooding and drainage issues in the Cairns CBD Environs Catchment. The 16 suburbs that form this catchment are Aeroglen, Bayview Heights, Bungalow, Cairns City, Cairns North, Earlville, Edge Hill, Kanimbla, Manoora, Manunda, Mooroobool, Parramatta Park, Portsmith, Westcourt, Whitfield and Woree. If you have experienced flooding or drainage problems within this area, we want to hear from you. The 2018 Mayor's Christmas Cheer Appeal aims to raise funds to deliver 700 food hampers to help bring some festive cheer to members of the community who need it most. Donations to the Mayor's Christmas Cheer Appeal can be made securely via Council’s website; or over the counter at one of Council’s customer service offices with cash, credit card, cheque or money order.
