Triple I Seed Funding update
Thank you to all who submitted a Triple I Seed Funding application. Please accept the Triple I Executive Committee’s apologies for going over the time advised to review the EOIs for the Seed grant scheme. As you may imagine, our Executive are extremely busy in the current environment.
Reviews of EOIs will be completed by 8th June and applicants will be advised on 10th June if they are progressing to full application. Full applications will be due on 22nd July and 5 weeks will be allowed for external review. Please contact Rebekah Puls to discuss further.
NHMRC Investigator and MRFF Priority Grants
The results of the latest round of NHMRC Investigator and MRFF Priority grants were recently announced. A total of 237 new projects will share in almost $400M funding from the NHMRC, with a further 30 grants to be funded through the MRFF. Congratulations to all recipients across the network including:
- A/Prof Rowena Bull (UNSW Medicine), Tackling the genomic diversity of RNA viruses
- A/Prof Keith Ooi (UNSW Medicine), Closing the Clinical Translation Gap of the Gut Microbiome in Chronic Diseases
- Dr David Muscatello (UNSW Medicine),
Improving epidemiological risk assessment of influenza epidemics
- Research Fellow Kelly Thompson (The George Institute for Global Health and UNSW Medicine), Understanding and improving outcomes due to Sepsis in at-risk and underserved populations
- Dr Naomi Hammond (The George Institute for Global Health and UNSW Medicine), Delineating the role of Fludrocortisone and Hydrocortisone in the management of patients with septic shock
