Top of the class for pharmacists as University of Tasmania shines in national survey by Good Education Group’s The Good University Guide 2017. The survey found graduates in the health services and support field received a median salary of $80,000, the highest of any university in the field.

Engineering Student Finds Success in Tasmania

It’s been more than a decade since Yue Song graduated from the University of Tasmania (UTAS) with an engineering degree under his belt. His fully accredited UTAS degree has allowed the Chinese native to build a career in civil engineering in Tasmania, where he now lives as an Australian citizen with his wife and daughter.

Aimed at enhancing the international student experience through opportunities in Tasmania, the I-PREP Program helps students identify career paths and goals and develop their professional profiles.

Bachelor of Contemporary Arts Graduate Janice One Step Closer to Her Dream

When secondary school teacher and aspiring museum curator Janice Peh decided to pursue her dream to study art history, she turned to her friends for advice about Australian universities. ‘All of my friends in Singapore who had studied and lived in Tasmania offered really favourable feedback on both the University of Tasmania (UTAS) and Tasmania’, she says. ‘They assured me that Tasmania is a great place to study and a particularly inspiring place for those studying in the arts.’

Visa Application Delays

A new simplified student visa framework (SSVF) was introduced in July 2016. Due to the large number of applications lodged to secure processing under previous rules, we have been advised by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) that some students who submitted visa applications through the new SSVF are experiencing delays with receiving their student visas.
