In Some Men, Testosterone Therapy Might Reduce Risk of Heart Attack and Stroke
Over the last couple of years, there has been a lot of buzz about the safety of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for the treatment of low testosterone. But new research suggests that TRT could be beneficial, at least for some men.
Men's testosterone levels naturally decline as they get older. This drop often leads to weakness, fatigue, and low libido. Some doctors prescribe TRT, but there have been concerns about the therapy's possible link to heart attacks and strokes.
Recently, scientists investigated TRT with 755 older men who had both low testosterone and coronary artery disease. They found that stroke, heart attack, and death were less common in men who took testosterone compared to men who didn't receive treatment.
More research is still needed. Click here to find out more.
