General Surgeon Roshan Ramachandran joins GSSC outreach service to Katanning General Surgeon joins GSSC outreach service to KatanningGeneral Surgeon Mr Roshan Ramachandran will be travelling to Katanning and providing a monthly consulting and operating service to the community through the Great Southern Specialist Centre. Mr Ramachandran has joined GSSC to
support our commitment to providing General Surgery outreach services to rural communities. This service is available to both public and private patients wishing to be consulted, and operated on, in Katanning. Any referrals for this service can be forwarded directly to our administration team. Born and educated in Malaysia, Mr Ramachandran completed undergraduate medical training at the International Medical University (IMU), and upon completion of his internship at Kuala Lumpur General Hospital, migrated to Perth in 2008. Accepted into the General Surgery Specialist training Program in 2014 he has trained in all major tertiary centres in WA and was awarded the Fellowship in General Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2018. Mr Ramachandran said he had already enjoyed visiting and working with patients in Katanning, he liked the small community feel and how appreciative the local community were of visiting doctors. His general surgical procedures include: hernia repair-groin/abdominal wall/incisional (open/laparoscopic), gallbladder surgery, hemorrhoidal surgery, carpal tunnel surgery, skin lesions, vasectomy, hydrocoele repair and breast surgery. He also performs endoscopy, gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Mr Ramachandran will be visiting Katanning once a month with a view to increasing that rotation in the second half of the year.
