DOMINO'S DARING ROULETTE PIZZA Domino's Australia have created a limited-edition 'Roulette Pizza' this Halloween. A ghost hot chilli sauce allows customers to spike one slice of the pizza and serve it to an unsuspecting friend. The hot chilli sauce option is only available from October 26th until November 1st and can be added to any pizza from the classic base collection. It is made from one of the most extreme chilli peppers in the world, the Yellow Bhut Jolokia Chilli, and will only be added to one random slice. 2. NEW SANDWICHES ON U.S. MENUSMore restaurants have introduced their own classic chicken sandwiches. Wendy’s layers their chicken breast filet with mayo, tomato, lettuce and pickles while Church’s Chicken has launched new versions using spicy mayo and jalapeno peppers. Jack in the Box, has launched their Chili Cheeseburger feautring one or two beef patties, beef chili, onions and cheese. Papa John’s is now serving a Double Cheeseburger Papadia, filled with seasoned beef, pickles and cheese. 3. PANERA LAUNCHES FLATBREAD PIZZASAs consumers around the world are eating meals at home, Panera Bread has added flatbread pizzas to their menu in an effort to boost their dinner and delivery sales. The new offerings of Cheese, Margherita and Chipotle Chicken and Bacon pizzas, starting at $7.99, were created to travel well and are large enough to be shared. Along with many other brands, drive-thru and delivery sales have skyrocketed in recent months. People are craving familiar and inexpensive meal options which Panera provides for with their new hearty flatbread pizzas. 4. FESTIVE SANDWICHES IN STORETesco, Waitrose, Aldi and Starbucks have revealed the festive sandwiches on offer in stores this year. Last Christmas, Tesco sold 4 million sandwiches and plans to offer their signature ‘Turkey and Trimmings’ Sandwich or Wrap as well as their new Plant Chef ‘Root Veg and Chestnut Wrap’. Waitrose is offering a ‘Christmas Curry Bangers and Brioche’ filled with smoked pork sausage pieces and Starbucks has ‘The One with the Gravy Layer’ Sandwich made with pulled ham hock and turkey. 5. FEEDING THOSE IN NEEDMcDonald’s UK is partnering with FareShare charity to provide one million meals to families in need. This partnership will enable Fare Share to distribute surplus food to the most vulnerable throughout the UK. Back in March when restaurants first closed temporarily, 400 tonnes of food and 100,000 litres of milk were given out to support local communities. Retailers such as Morrisons and Asda have also pledged food donations to help feed the nation. 6. BRITAIN'S FAVOURITE SANDWICH IS...The burger has been revealed as Britain’s favourite sandwich, according to research from food delivery app, Foodhub. 77% of people eat sandwiches at lunchtime with a third eating at least one sandwich every day. One quarter of Brits voted the burger as their favourite sandwich, followed closely by the classic ham & cheese (23%) and cheese & pickle (22%). The survey found that most consumers want to pay less than £3 for a sandwich, however, 15% would pay up to £6 if the sandwich was of sufficient quality. 7. MCDONALD'S 30 DAYS 30 DEALSMcDonald’s Australia are bringing back their ‘30 Days 30 Deals’ initiative of deals on signature menu items for the month of November. Each deal lasts 24 hours and is redeemable through the MyMacca's app. The initiative kicks off this weekend with $0.50 Cheeseburgers followed later in the month by $1 McFlurries, $2 Big Mac and $1 large fries. The full calendar of deals has been released as fans have one day to take avail of each deal. 8. PLANNING FOR CHRISTMAS MEALSWhile consumers wait to hear what government restrictions will be in place this Christmas, 39% of shoppers in the UK already plan to buy their holiday groceries online, according to a recent YouGov survey. Retailers are preparing for a surge in orders by hiring more employees and ensuring enough stock will be available. Waitrose have reported a 143% year-on-year uplift with 107,000 bookings between 20th-24th December. 9. Those who purchase tickets receive a meal kit filled with everything needed to make two Homeslice pizzas, and four Jameson cocktails. Guests have the option between classic Homeslice Margherita or Salami, Rocket & Parmesean pizzas with vegan alternatives as well. The workshop experience can be purchased on the Fever app for £29.95, offering activities led by bartending and pizza chef professionals.
