Triple I Annual Meeting
Join us for the Triple I Clinical Academic Group Annual Meeting. This will be a combined face-to-face/online meeting, with the presenters and other members encouraged to attend in person (max. 60 people). Due to anticipated attendee numbers and current COVID restrictions, the event will be held at the Scientia Building, UNSW Sydney.

New vaccine needed for serious childhood pneumonia
A UNSW Sydney-led medical research team has called for a new vaccine, improved strategies and enhanced monitoring to combat serious complications from childhood pneumonia.

Academy of Social Sciences in Australia funding success
The Academy recently announced funding for collaborative projects with French researchers. Recipients include a project led by Dr Adam Craig (UNSW Sydney)
citizen science observation of arboviral-carrying mosquitos in Pacific islands.

Australian Government urged to invest in updated vaccine manufacturing capability
The Australian Academy of Science has urged the Australian Government to develop additional vaccine manufacturing capability within the next 12 months. They say without the ability to produce mRNA vaccines onshore, Australia and the region remain vulnerable to supply limitations. The recommendation is part of the Academy's 2021-22 pre-Federal budget submission.

The Australia & New Zealand Musculoskeletal Clinical Trials Network has released a draft guideline on the pharmacological management of inflammatory arthritis for public consultation.

Cancer Immunology Ideas Forum : Save the date
Immune checkpoint inhibitors, CAR-T cells and cancer vaccines are changing the way clinicians are managing malignancies, and the prognosis of people living with cancer. But it’s only the beginning. The inaugural Cancer Immunology Ideas Forum brings together the pre-clinical, translational and clinical research community for presentation of work, scientific discussion and research brainstorming.This will be a day of collegiality and collaboration for those working on this frontier of medicine.

UNSW is working with industry partners and collaborative networks to identify and nominate three outstanding commercialisation proposals from small to medium businesses for the NSW R&D Innovation Districts Challenge. NHMRC participation in the 2021 e-Asia Joint Research Program   
NHMRC is participating in the 2021 e-ASIA Joint Research Program 10th Health Research call for research proposals in infectious diseases or cancer. To be eligible to apply for NHMRC funding, a research project must consist of Australian researchers partnering with at least two research teams from participating e-ASIA member organisations.
