Welcome Welcome to the latest newsletter for The Zingoshi Chronicles. In case you’re new here, this is a fun entertainment project that’s all about helping guide young kids to become creative leaders. It’s made up of several different ‘pieces’ with a video game and a book already on the go, and a TV series planned for the near future. For tech-lovers, you might be interested to know that both our book AND our game include fantastic augmented reality. Who knows, maybe the TV will, too. Watch this space… The Zingoshi Chronicles is for 7-12-year olds. It’s based on themes of childhood friendship and adventure, and it’s set on a fictional planet called Planet Zingoshi, where magic and flying are commonplace. This newsletter is designed for anyone interested in The Zingoshi Chronicles, to keep you up to date with what is going on with the project. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Dragonfly launch We had a great book launch for Dragonfly at the Dorothy Butler Children’s Bookshop. Many thanks again to Helen, Mary and the staff for stocking the book, and for making us feel so welcome at the launch. Thanks so much too, to all the lovely people who came along. Aucklanders, Dragonfly is also now available at the fabulous Clevedon Woolshed, which is exciting. It’s also available online through our website. www.zingoshi.com/thebook. We’ve now by-passed 100 orders, which was a cool milestone to hit! We’re loving the positive feedback about the book. We’ve had some great emails from kids and even one from a lovely nana who ordered online. She wrote that she was several decades out of the target age bracket but she was really looking forward to reading it all the same!

Duffy Books Duffy Books delivers over 100 000 books each year to more than 550 schools in New Zealand. We were asked to become part of the Duffy book ‘family’, and to share our Zingoshi story as part of a special series of Duffy assemblies taking place around the country, focusing on inspirational people and organisations. What a privilege, and what a wonderful experience. Ronel travelled to Taupo, Napier and Hastings and spoke to 10 schools there, as well as to Kelston Intermediate School, in Auckland. This was a great chance to showcase The Zingoshi
Chronicles. The kids fell in love with the book and game trailer. Teachers were very positive about our inclusion of STEAM activities, and the fact that this game will take kids literally off-screen for ‘real world’ activities. As usual there were a lot of oohs and aahs for the augmented reality moments. And there were plenty of oohs and aahs when they saw how tall Ronel was, too! Thanks to the students of Bridge Pa School in Hastings for this great photo.

Public RelationsLeandri Smith of The Mailroom helped us with PR to coordinate with the launch of Dragonfly. She did an amazing job. We were featured in numerous articles including one in the Herald’s business section, we did radio interviews including one on Radio NZ with Kathryn Ryan, and we were even on TV, see the link below to watch us on TV3’s The Cafe. As always with this project, people were excited about the fact this project is so strongly story and character driven, and they loved how it’s designed to inspire kids to become creative leaders. Everyone was amazed and impressed at our high-calibre investors; Theresa
Gattung, James and Cecilia Robinson, and Dame Julie Christie, and of course, everyone is always very excited about the augmented reality! We loved the whole experience and it was really gratifying to feel people’s genuine interest in this project. Link to TV appearance
New Opportunities We’re currently in talks with an American company about an exciting possibility for broadcasting some of our brand’s content on cable TV there. Imagine The Zingoshi Chronicles in people’s living rooms all over America… ‘Woo hoo!’ as Willabella would say!
Making Zingoshi – Behind the Scenes With all the recent PR around The Zingoshi Chronicles, we’re finding there’s a lot of interest in our team, and our processes. People are really fascinated by everything that goes into creating a transmedia property, and they are intrigued by the ‘hi-tech’ elements of Zingoshi. What makes the people behind the tech, tick? Here’s a short interview introducing our magnificent augmented reality and artificial intelligence specialist, Vinnie Vivace.
