More than $100,000 Raised to Fund Programs for Underrepresented in MedicineThe STFM Foundation would like to thank all of the generous donors who helped us raise $103,454 for the Underrepresented in Medicine campaign. This campaign has a $150,000 2-year goal and with this start to the campaign, the Foundation will be able to provide additional underrepresented in medicine scholarships in 2019.

Volunteer to Develop Milestones 2.0The ACGME is seeking volunteers for a family medicine work group, which will develop Milestones 2.0. Volunteers must be proficient in one or more of the ACGME Competencies and be familiar with the Milestones, and need not be physicians. Work Group members will be selected based on multiple criteria, including the level of expertise, specialty and regional diversity, and need. The time committment is roughly 1 year.

Educating Residents About Intimate Partner Violence Using Didactics and PracticeEvery year, more than 10 million women and men in the United States experience intimate partner violence (IPV) by a current or former partner, and approximately three million children witness IPV in their homes. Incorporating IPV training into curriculum helps resident acquire skills to effectively identify and provide resources to survivors of IPV, which leads to patients receiving high-quality, comprehensive, and necessary care.
STFM Welcomes Emerging Leaders Fellowship Class of 2018-2019Sixteen family medicine faculty have been chosen for the Emerging Leaders Fellowship class of 2018-2019. The fellowship offers training, tools, and support for new faculty and those who are transitioning to leadership roles. This group began their yearlong fellowship at the 2018 STFM Annual Spring Conference.
Updates on Family Medicine for America's Health and Health is PrimaryOnce a month, STFM highlights the news from Family Medicine for America's Health (FMAHealth) and its campaign, Health is Primary. STFM is one of the eight family medicine organizations who joined to create FMAHealth, a multi-year initiative to demonstrate the value of primary care in delivering on the Triple Aim of better health, better care, and lower costs. FMAHealth News - FMAHealth’s Health Equity Tactic Team presented "Family Medicine: Advancing Health Equity" at AAFP ACLF-NCCL.
- FMAHealth is collaborating with the Patient Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) to sponsor a workshop on increasing investment in primary care. The workshop will be held on day two of the PCPCC’s annual meeting on November 8th in Washington, DC.
