Kirby Institute-led collaboration awarded $5 million to support the detection of infectious diseases in the Indo-Pacific region
A consortium of Australia’s leading infectious disease research centres – the Kirby, Doherty, and Burnet Institutes – together with international collaborators, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) and FIND, the global alliance for diagnostics – will strengthen laboratory capacity for testing and diagnosis of COVID-19, HIV, malaria and tuberculosis in our region.

a[TEST] Proves Important Sexual Health Intervention
A recent study of the service at a[TEST] Clinics, published in AIDS Journal, found that the service was found to be a highly effective model for testing, having captured a high proportion of new HIV diagnoses in NSW.

Breathe easy: new research to improve inhaler effectiveness
New research uses computational fluid dynamics to model how drugs are delivered to the human respiratory tract via an inhaler. The aim is to improve the effectiveness of dry powder inhalers to treat lung disease.
