Dear Incoming Graduate and Professional Students,

You are invited to the new Graduate and Professional Student Orientation and Picnic on August 20, 2019, 2:00-6:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall and at the Posvar Patio. This event showcases all the University-wide services and resources available to you as graduate and professional students. You can also meet some of the people who are committed to ensuring your success while you are at Pitt.

Highlights of the orientation include:

2:00–2:30 p.m.            Welcome from Nathan Urban – Vice Provost for Graduate Studies
2:30–2:45 p.m.            Keeping our Campus Safe: A Primer on Title IX, Resources, and Reporting
2:45–3:00 p.m.            Support for Graduate Student Mental Health
3:00–3:20 p.m.            Mentoring Tips from Current Graduate Students and Faculty
3:00–4:30 p.m.            Resource Fair: 50 Booths Including FREE Headshot Photos and Pitt swag
4:30–6:30 p.m.            Meet Peers and Student Organizations at the Picnic

The online schedule includes access to a campus map for the event and additional orientation resources.

Plan to attend the entire program—or join us when you can. This University-wide orientation complements orientations offered by your program, department, or school. Together, all these events will provide you the information you need to start your graduate program off right.

I’ll see you at the New Graduate and Professional Student Orientation and Picnic! Be social and tag your orientation photos at #PittGradStudies.

Nathan Urban
Vice Provost for Graduate Studies and Strategic Initiatives
