Tell us about your business/organisation?
The Wine & Dine’m Catering company began in 1999, building a reputation as Brisbane and South-East Queensland’s leading full-service caterer. We develop excellent creative catering ideas for any occasion; from a formal boardroom lunch to an elegant cocktail event, or spectacular outdoor wedding.
What is your role at your organisation?
Business Development Manager.
What are your key skills and responsibilities?
Managing our venue and client relationships. Having also worked in offsite catering for 20 years there aren’t a lot of functions that I have been a part of, so I can lend my experience to help create an event that fulfils our client’s desired outcomes.
How many people work at your business?
We have 11 full time staff with a casual workforce approaching 150 on some days.
What is your favourite place in the precinct?
The State Library, not only is it a beautifully designed building for events but the hub for creative and engaging community events.
What do you want BSB members to know about you or your business?
Although we cater for unique one-off events like the launch of the Legacy Way Tunnel where we catered a sit down dinner for 500 people in the tunnel, the core of our business is corporate catering from office meetings to cocktail parties and boardroom lunches.
What is something people wouldn’t know about your business?
Our business is 17 years old next May.
What has recently happened at your organisation?
In 2015 we hired a General Manager, enabling me to concentrate on working on the business.
What have you learnt lately?
Our people are our business whether its our waiters onsite or the amazing team in our logistics crew who make sure everything gets to where its going and back again.
What do you hope to achieve in your industry?
A reconnection between people and food and where it comes from.
What inspires you?
The enthusiasm of new staff, fresh ideas and alternative thinking.
What are your words of wisdom?
Don’t ask anyone to do something your not willing to do yourself.
