Gardens prepares for its 25th birthday celebrations

Gardening personality Costa Georgiadis will be a special guest speaker at the Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens 25th birthday celebrations on October 6.

Costa, the host of the ABC television program Gardening Australia, will speak at the family fun day along with Professor Tim Entwisle, the Director and Chief Executive of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Melbourne.

Rates notices to arrive in mail from August 20

Residents can expect their rates notices to arrive in the mail from August 20.

Ratepayers who pay their rates in full before close of business on September 20, 2013 will receive a 10 per cent discount.

A five per cent discount is available for those who pay in full between September 21 and October 22, 2013.

Discounted microchipping sessions held next month

National Pet Register will host two, regional $25 per animal cat and dog microchipping sessions in August, supported by Gladstone Regional Council.

The discounted microchipping events will be held from 9am to 2pm on August 10 at William Miskin Park on Morgan Street, Gladstone and on August 11 at the Seventeen Seventy SES Grounds on Captain Cook Drive.
