Finishing up spring 2014 seminars

We are winding up our first seminar season in Erlanger (Cincinnati), then in Peoria, and are encouraged with the positive feedback. We are actively planning our next Creativity Seminar series for winter 2014 - 2015. We have locations that we are currently booking, but we would love to hear any location suggestions!

Spring workshops

We begin our spring workshop series in Charleston and in the Smokies. This is the best time to photograph these locales, especially during prime infrared time!

We have openings in several of our 2014 events. Please contact susan for more information.

Iceland and Santa Fe w/ Bobbie Goodrich

As always, we really look forward to returning to Iceland in June! We are a 'go,' and have only a few openings to reach our maximum of 12.

Our joint venture with the great Bobbie Goodrich is coming up in November! Santa Fe is an incredible location and processing in Bobbies studio will add to the amazing ambience of this workshop!

Portugal May, 2015!!

Ok....I'm getting over my flying issue! Airplanes appear to be a safe mode of travel. Portugal has been on my radar for 20 years and we finally have the right inside person, resident, and great photographer, Keron, to put the logistics in motion. So, we're gauging interest in this event. If you want to be placed on the list, please email me.

Fuji X system update

I have the XT-1, bought it on the way the NY last week. I'll do a major blog on this soon, but it's small, heavy build, mind blowing viewer, and fast focus.....aanndd....a remote control APP!

The XE2 is a great second body.

I'll get my Xpro1 converted to infrared.

The lenses are razor sharp. The color is great! and I look forward to a really fun year of photography.

Do I still have my Nikon system? Of course! I've pared down to a smaller system for flowers and macro, multiple exposures, HDR, extreme weather, and for the D800's incomparable file size and quality.

That's about it.......oh , yeah....you may want to have a look at the new Uinta bag from GuraGear. With front and back loading, it's the perfect modular backpack for mirrorless systems and pared down DSLR systems. You never have to set it down to work! Nice! Disc Code: TONYPHOTO

Now....That's about it!

Take good care and we'll see ya online!

tip of the month

Tony Sweet is a professional photographer, author, workshop leader, software trainer, and Seminar speaker. He is a Nikon Legend Behind the Lens.

It's almost wildflower time....and it's always indoor, bought flower time!

Here's a thought to consider. Flower photography is exactly like human portrait photography. Looking at great portraits, and candids directly affects my flower photography and vice- versa.

The lead image is a case in point? Does the dramatically clipped head bother you? Why or why not? It shouldn't be a visual distraction as it appears that it was intentional, just like in flower photography.

Also, just as in flower photography, clipping the very top of his head would have pulled the eye in that direction.

Chopping - good

Clipping - not so good
