Reminder - deadline approaching!About the GrantsNCCRED is releasing the first round of grants to fund innovative Clinical Research for the treatment of substance use disorder due to methamphetamine or emerging drugs of concern.Capacity Building Grants $400,000 of funding is available to fund value-add projects to currently established investigator-initiated studies. Applicants are encouraged to apply for funding that will enable the study to answer additional study questions, build research capacity, and produce translational research results. The funding round specifically targets proposals investigating treatment options for methamphetamine use disorder. Applications of $5,000 to $100,000 per project will be considered. Seed Funding Grants $500,000 of funding is available to provide financial support as a seed-funding grant to establish investigator-initiated clinical trials / treatment research. The initial funding round specifically targets proposals investigating treatment options for substance use disorder due to methamphetamine or emerging drugs of concern. Applications of $5,000 to $100,000 per project will be considered. Further funding rounds will be advertised in early 2019. Our aim is to support clinicians and clinical services to detect and respond to new drug health problems. Funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health, the Centre is formed by a consortium between: The National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA, Flinders University); The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC, The University of New South Wales); The National Drug Research Institute (NDRI, Curtin University); and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
