CARLOS JOFRE IBANEZ 1947-2020

It is with great sadness that we inform you that our dear colleague, Mr. Carlos Jofré, has passed away last week.

Carlos was Technical Director of IECA (Spanish Institute of Cement) for 25 years. Since 2012, he was an independent consultant. He was a renowned expert in all applications of cement and concrete in road infrastructure and his expertise was not only valuable to Spain but to the worldwide community of concrete pavements.

NEW FACT SHEET!

Concrete pavements are 100% recyclable

Following the release of our infographic "Concrete Pavements make roads more sustainable", EUPAVE's working group on Environmental Strategy has decided to release fact sheets focusing on its different items. The first document looked deeper into the high albedo effect. The second was focused on fuel consumption. 

The topic of the third fact sheet is "100% recycling".

Reminder | 14th International Symposium on Concrete Roads

First announcement and call for abstracts

The Polish Cement Association and EUPAVE are pleased to invite you to take part in the 14th International Symposium on Concrete Roads from 19 to 23 June 2022 in Krakow, Poland. The motto of the international conference is “Concrete Roads to the Green World”.

Anyone interest is invited to submit an abstract, around 300 words, written in English.

In addition to 11 themes, 2 special sessions were added: 

  • Base layers (hydraulically bound base layers, soil stabilization, in-situ pavement recycling) 
  • Concrete block paving (concrete paving blocks, tiles, slabs, removable pavements)

EUPAVE advocates for life cycle approach in upcoming TEN-T proposal

On Wednesday 9th December, EUPAVE and MEP Petar Vitanov held an online EU Debate on “Green Deal: the right choices for a climate resilient and sustainable TEN-T”. The event, held as a webinar, was attended by around 35 participants. It gathered representatives of the public and private sector and of the European Commission.
