Testosterone Levels Declining in Younger Men

Testosterone levels have been dropping among adolescent and young adult males in the United States, according to new research in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

The findings are based on data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES).

During the 1999-2000 survey cycle, the average testosterone measurement for men aged 15 to 39 was 605.39 ng/dL. By the 2015-2016 cycle, that number had dropped to 451.22 ng/dL.

How Does Peyronie's Disease Affect Women?

When a man has Peyronie's disease, it can impact both him and his female partner, researchers say.

The condition, which causes the penis to bend, can make intercourse difficult.

In fact, in a study of 28 men and their partners, over 80% of the participants said they had trouble having vaginal intercourse. Many reported less frequent intercourse.

However, the women were less bothered by the situation than the men.

Why Do Men Abstain From Sex?

Abstinence among younger men might be more common than you think.

They caution, however, that that figure depends on how other researchers define "sex."

For example, one study might consider sex to be only penile-vaginal intercourse. Another might consider masturbation to be sex.

Still, the review offered a number of reasons why men might abstain.

Fish Oil Might Improve Testicular Function

Is fish oil good for the testicles?

It might be, according a recent study in JAMA Network Open.

Researchers studied the testicular health of almost 1,700 young Danish men.

They discovered that men who took fish oil supplements had larger testicles and ejaculated more semen than men who didn't.

Fish oil might also boost fertility, the authors noted.

Here's how.
