Undergraduate Research Assistant Opportunity - Alcohol & Smoking Research Laboratory
The Alcohol & Smoking Research Laboratory (ASRL) investigates the neural and behavioral mechanisms of cigarette craving. Using functional MRI (fMRI) and behavioral assessments, we examine how craving emerges in response to smoking-related cues and how brain activity reflects these craving states. This work is part of a large NIH-funded project (R01AT010896, see here: https://reporter.nih.gov/search/7Iw3CntmckO9-QJyIfW_IA/project-details/…) that aims to identify the brain pathways involved in craving and to inform future craving-reduction strategies.
Please see Dr. Sayette's website for additional details.

Post Bac Full-time Lab Manager Opportunity
The Computational Clinical Science Lab at Yale, directed by Dr. Shirley Wang, is hiring a full-time post-baccalaureate Lab Manager/Research Coordinator to begin in Summer 2026. Our lab aims to develop and harness methods that can capture and model the immense complexity of mental health and illness, with a focus on suicide, nonsuicidal self-injury, and eating disorders. Our work is interdisciplinary by nature. We integrate methods from across the clinical and computational sciences, including machine learning, mathematical modeling, and digital phenotyping (via smartphones and wearable biosensors). The lab is located in the Department of Psychology at Yale University, which provides an excellent research and training environment. For more information, please visit our website: https://ccslab.yale.edu/.
This position is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a PhD in clinical or quantitative psychology or a related field. The lab manager will work closely with the PI (Shirley Wang) to manage daily activities of the lab and assist with all aspects of the research process on multiple projects. We strongly value mentorship and professional development, and the lab manager will have opportunities to lead independent projects, co-author publications, and present at conferences. A 2-year commitment is strongly preferred, with an initial appointment of one year (renewable with satisfactory progress).
Primary responsibilities will include managing complex research protocols (digital phenotyping studies, intensive longitudinal designs); recruiting and screening participants (online and in person); collecting data (EMA, wearables, behavioral tasks, online surveys, clinical interviews); data management, cleaning, and analysis; training and supervising undergraduate research assistants; and general administrative duties to maintain the workings of the lab (e.g., assisting with IRB protocols and grants, expense/finance management; maintaining lab website and lab documents).
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (in psychology, statistics, computer science, neuroscience, or a related field); and strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. Desired qualifications include prior experience with real-time monitoring data collection (e.g., EMA, passive mobile sensing, wearable biosensors); clinical populations; and IRB protocol submissions. Strong quantitative and technical skills are also desirable, including experience with data cleaning and statistical analysis in R and/or Python. We are excited to recruit a candidate who would positively contribute to building a collaborative and inclusive lab environment.
To apply, please upload a single PDF with the following documents here:
· A cover letter (describing your research experiences, interests, and long-term goals, as well as skills/experiences that have prepared you for this specific position as described in the responsibilities above)
* Your CV
