STFM Launches New Podcast on COVID-19 Leadership
Academic Medicine Leadership Lessons, a podcast by STFM, launched on April 14. Recent interviews focus on academic family medicine's response to the novel coronavirus. The series will evolve to cover other leadership topics.
CERA Will Accept Program Director Survey Proposals Beginning May 26
The survey will be conducted in fall 2020. Researchers whose questions are included in the survey will have exclusive access to their portion of the survey results for 90 days. After 90 days, the data will be added to the CERA data repository. The survey will collect demographic information in addition to submitted questions. Priority will be given to proposals that are likely to result in high-quality, peer-reviewed publications.

This award recognizes excellence in practice improvement involving patient-centered care by an outstanding family medicine resident or resident team providing outstanding patient interaction, education, care, and outcomes.
Nominate a Student for the STFM Foundation Scholarship
Nominate a medical student who has an interest in family medicine and the potential for an academic career to be an STFM Foundation Student Scholar. Scholarship winners receive up to $500 to cover travel expenses to attend the STFM Conference on Medical Student Education, and free conference registration! The conference will be held January 31 to February 3, 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Call for Papers for a PRiMER COVID-19 Special Collection
In response to the SARS-CoV-2 viral pandemic, PRiMER editors invite submissions directly related to COVID-19, to be published rapidly. During this pandemic, medical and public health students are being pressed into service performing rapid literature reviews, and medical educators are being forced to adapt instructional content and methods. PRiMER editors recognize the value of these efforts, and seek to refine and publish them, to the benefit of the academic medicine and public health research communities.
Shots App Updated With 2019 Immunization Guidelines
The Shots App, jointly developed by STFM and AAFP, has been updated to include 2020 CDC vaccine schedules including: adult, childhood/adolescent, and child catch-up. Shots is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

New CMS Interim Final Rule Allows for Application of Primary Care Exception to Telehealth Services
On April 30, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published an update to the interim final rule that was published at the end of March. The new rule includes technical changes STFM and the other academic family medicine organizations advocated for to allow for the application of the primary care exception to telehealth services.
RuralGME Develops NewToolbox for Rural Residency Programs
The RuralGME Toolbox, a collection of resources for developing rural residencies, is now available to the public. RuralGME.org brings together partners in every specialty and experts from across the US in all aspects of rural graduate medical education.
Rural PREP Microresearch Grant Application Is Now Open
Rural PREP, the Collaborative for Rural Primary care, Research, Education and Practice, is investing $30,000 in local research projects leading to solutions related to primary care, population health, and workforce education and training. Eligible applicants are current students in medical school, nurse practitioner programs, physician assistant programs, residents in a rural physician residency program, or other health professionals training for primary care practice in a rural location.
