Sandoval Elected COS Senator

NSC would like to extend a congratulations to Dr. Jennifer Sandoval (Assistant Professor of Human Communication and Communication and Conflict) who has been elected to serve as a COS at-large Senator for 2017-18 and 2018-19.

 
 

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Awards Program Application Deadline - March 22

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Awards Program (SOTL) applications are due on March 22. The application process this year is electronic. Interested persons must inform Zachary Knauer if you intend to apply because you must be added into the electronic system beforehand. Without being in the system, applicants will not have access to the application. The online application opens March 8  All necessary application information can be found by visiting the Office of Faculty Excellence online.

ICRCC Volunteer Meeting

The International Crisis and Risk Communication Conference is being held March 13 - 15. In preparation for the event, the ICRCC team is hosting a volunteer meeting starting at 12 pm this Friday, March 10 at NSC room 143D. At this meeting, team leaders will discuss the ways in which they would like for volunteers to help out. If you have any questions beforehand, please contact Tommiea Jackson.

 
 

Intern Pursuit March. 20

Quotes is excited to announce the date for its spring 2017 Intern Pursuit internship fair. The event will take place from 6:30 - 8 p.m. on Monday, March 20 in the student union Pegasus ballroom. Students are asked to wear business attire as well as bring a portfolio or resume. Please share this event news with your students.

 
 

Order Summer Textbooks by March 15

Those teaching this summer should submit textbook orders by March 15. Please be aware that if you do not place an order, a textbook will not be ordered. The system will not automatically order books used during the previous semester. If you do not use a textbook, please notify Debbie Doyle.

LEP's Annual 
Leadership Institute

The 2016-2017 Leadership Empowerment Program and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion invite you to attend their annual Leadership Institute, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on March 24, 2017 at the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center. The Leadership Institute is a campus-wide professional development opportunity offered to the UCF faculty, staff, and students during the spring semester. The theme of this year’s event is One Community, Collective Impact.The aim of the institute is to discuss how UCF’s strategic plan with its commitment to diversity and inclusion will impact the Central Florida community and beyond.  Seating is limited for this event.  Please register by March 17, 2017, at https://lep.online.ucf.edu/.

Fire Sprinkler Inspections
March 10

The upcoming semi-annual fire sprinkler inspections will be taking place around the Nicholson Building on March 10. Normal operations should not be affected by this work, though the areas near the storm water drains, backflows and fire pumps will need to be kept clear on the day of the inspection.
