4. Review concludes no need to freeze farmed Atlantic salmon

A recent review by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and the Sea-fisheries Protection Authority has found that Atlantic salmon farmed in Ireland can be exempted from freezing to control parasites.

6. WHO calls for pause on sale of live wild animals in markets

The World Health Organization (WHO) and other agencies have called on countries to suspend the sale of certain live caught wild animals in food markets. The agencies say that trade in live caught wild animals for food should be suspended and sections of markets selling such products should be closed unless effective regulations and adequate risk assessments are in place.
