I wanted to begin this issue by sending a heartfelt thank you to all of you dealing with the increased pressure brought on by COVID-19. The work being done by nurses and midwives during this national health crisis is truly humbling. We appreciate your dedication and hard work in all health settings and our entire organisation extends their gratitude and support to each and every one of you. The Council’s most important role is protecting public safety. We do this on behalf of every person who does or will receive health care. As an update, the Nursing and Midwifery Council of NSW continues to operate but our entire team is working remotely. Below is a quick summary of what you need to know about our operations.
While our working arrangements may have changed we will continue to deliver our core service while taking into account any exceptional circumstances health practitioners are dealing with. It is a challenging time so it is easy to forget to look after yourself as well. If you need some advice, referral to support services or just someone to talk to, please reach out to the team at Nurse and Midwife Support. They have wonderful resources available to support you and your peers.
