Martin Luther King Jr DayThe Martin Luther King Day commemorates the birthday of American civil rights leader Dr Martin Luther King, Jr., and celebrates his life, achievements and legacy. Next week the students across the Elementary Department will be reading and researching from books in our library the life of the famous American activist. In the States, he is considered the national champion of civil rights and equality, and his birthday is a national holiday. G2 will perform a skit in class where the students will learn what it means to be segregated and will write about their experiences using a graphic organizer. Other students will create a scrapbook of pages depicting facts and photos of various times of his life for their classrooms. Finally, we will have a short assembly in the cafeteria where students from G1-G2 will sing the song “We Are Unity”. It will be a truly great learning experience for all! Third Grader's New EndeavorKrassimir Stavrev G3 from Ms Beatrix and Ms Katerina's class has a new weekend job. Krassi and two former friends from Kindergarten decided to get a job working with dogs at the Animal Rescue Sofia in Dolni Bogrov. Krassi really wants a dog and his parents agreed this would be a great way to learn about the care, feeding, and grooming of dogs before he gets one of his own when he is in the 5th grade. Every Saturday, the boys go to the dog kennel and care, feed, and walk the dogs. Gallery VisitAs part of their curriculum in Art, G7 students visited the National Gallery's newest complex 'Kvadrat 500', on a guided tour to the museum's best collections of XX century European Art. |
