In this role, Leslie is making history as the first black woman to play Batwoman. Leslie is replacing Ruby Rose as the title character for the second season of The CW’s DC Comics-based series. Leslie, who co-starred on CBS’ “God Friended Me” for two seasons, will play a new character, Ryan Wilder. While Ryan Wilder initially dons Kate Kane’s suit at the beginning of Season 2, as Ryan grows into her newfound role as Batwoman, she redesigns the suit. In the third episode, Ryan reveals the new Batsuit, sending a message to Gotham that a New Hero has arrived. The CW describes Wilder as, "An out lesbian. Athletic. Raw. Passionate. Fallible. And very much not your stereotypical all-American hero." Jill Biden and Tory Burch Team Up to Talk Women in Business(Credit: Glamour) Jill Biden and fashion designer Tory Burch are getting real about what it's like to be an entrepreneur, especially during a pandemic. Hosted by the Biden for President campaign and streamed on Glamour's Facebook page, the Mobilize Main Street event addresses how best to promote and encourage women in business, while also encouraging voter turnout for the upcoming election. This talk couldn't be more timely, as many small businesses continue to struggle in light of the pandemic. And the data shows that the challenges that entrepreneurs are facing are compounded for women in business—especially those of color. Biden and Burch also touched on the Biden-Harris campaign's commitment to ensuring entrepreneurs can get back on track once the pandemic subsides. ‘Emily in Paris’ Fave Ashley Park Opened Up About Surviving Cancer(Credit: Carole Bethuel, Netflix) The “Emily in Paris” actress, 29, was diagnosed with leukemia at 15 but said she doesn’t like to talk about it because she doesn’t want it to define her life or career. “Many times people bring up my cancer experience,” Park told Cosmopolitan. “I totally don’t mind talking about it. I think it’s very important to talk about, but I also appreciate when I’m not asked to talk about the experience, or about how it’s informed how I’ve lived my life.” Park, who played Gretchen Weiners in the Broadway adaptation of “Mean Girls,” said she didn’t want to be defined by anything. “I never wanted to be just the Asian girl, just the ‘whatever’ girl, and then I got to 16 and was the bald girl and the sick girl,” she said, later admitting that her cancer battle is what made her learn that she could get through anything.
