Aquatic Centre to close for a day to allow for works

The Gladstone Aquatic Centre will be closed to the public on Saturday, August 31, while construction work continues on the new Splash Zone site.

The work to be completed on Saturday requires the removal of safety fencing and the use of heavy machinery, with Council electing to close the facility in the interest of public safety. 

Pound opening times to change after August 30

Council's animal pound located at the Brendonna Boarding Kennels and Cattery, Burua, will operate with different opening hours after August 30.

The pound will open for surrender and release of impounded animals Monday to Friday between 9am to 10.30am and 3pm to 4.30pm.

Payment of impounding fees is still required prior to collection of an impounded animal. Read more…

Call for tutors for 2014 youth holiday program

The Gladstone Region's favourite summer school holiday program, SUNfest, is calling for expressions of interest from individuals and businesses to run activities.

The youth program, for 10-17 year olds, will be staged throughout the region from January 6 to 17 and focuses on arts and culture, entertainment and sport and recreation.
