Council has increased the available pool of funding for our grant program, including new categories and additional options for support to help community groups, sporting clubs, businesses, individuals, artists and students during this difficult time.
Rates relief for JobSeekers
One-off $200 rates waiver for eligible residents
Council is offering eligible JobSeekers who own and occupy their home, a one-off, $200 rates relief waiver. Applications for the waiver will open online on Wednesday 1 July and close on Wednesday 30 September.
Pines Forest Aquatic Centre Master Plan

Council is currently seeking community feedback on our Pines Forest Aquatic Centre Master Plan, to address future and potential improvements for the community. The plan aims to create a truly ‘contemporary’ outdoor aquatic destination, suitable for wet and dry programs.
Council to control weeds without glyphosate
In the interest of environmental health, Council will cease using glyphosate for local weed control as of Wednesday 1 July.
Report local maintenance issues quickly and easily

Feeling unwell? Get tested
Victorians with any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild should get tested and stay at home. A new drive through mobile testing clinic has opened at Monash University Peninsula Campus, in addition to the screening clinics at Frankston and Rosebud Hospitals. Before you attend a screening clinic, please complete the online self-assessment to ensure you meet testing criteria. Visit the Peninsula Health website for more
information on local screening options. Remember, it is important to self isolate while you are waiting for your results.

To help us deliver the best possible arts experience for our community, Council is seeking your feedback on the Draft Arts & Culture Strategic Plan. Everyone who completes the survey will go in a draw to WIN 1 of 3 $100 vouchers for Frankston Arts Centre. Simply complete the 15 minute survey by 5pm, Friday 17 July. Foreshore Parking Permits move to application only
This year Residential Foreshore Parking Permits will not be distributed with annual rate notices. Residential ratepayers and residential tenants can now register to receive their permits via Council's website, or in person at any Council customer service centre from August 2020. Current permits expire at the end of September.

Council won't be hosting our usual community planting day this year. Instead, you can help the local environment by planting a FREE native plant in your backyard. Take a pic of you or a family member planting and share it with the hashtags: #FrankstonCity #FrankstonLovesTrees For more information on how we are supporting local schools to participate in Schools Tree Planting Day, visit the Council website.

Do you know a woman who is passionate about her community and would make a great councillor? 'Tap Her On The Shoulder' and encourage her to run in the upcoming Council elections in October. Help Gender Equity Victoria to reach their target of 50 per cent female councillors across Victoria by 2025.
2020–2021 Tourism Event Attraction Program
Grants of up to $12,000 available
The Tourism Event Attraction Program offers two grants of $12,000 to support event management companies wishing to create or relocate their tourism event to Frankston. Applications open 9am, Tuesday 14 July.

We have collated the available information, funding and supports into one easy to access resource, to help our community to survive and thrive during the pandemic. Information is a mixture of Council supports and the help being offered by the Victorian and Australian governments, charity organisations and more.
Frankston City Libraries open their doors
Some restrictions are still in place and numbers are limited
Visitors were welcomed back to Frankston City Libraries on Monday 22 June, with branches in Frankston, Carrum Downs and Seaford reopening with restrictions in place. Library-goers will be able to browse the collection, borrow, collect reservations, use public computers (booking recommended from 9am Monday), print, scan and take advantage of the free Wi-Fi. The following measures have been taken to protect staff and the public from the spread of COVID-19: - Each guest is permitted to visit the library for 30 minutes
- The number of people allowed in each branch is limited
- Opening hours are reduced
- Guests are asked to use hand sanitiser upon entry and to provide contact details for contact tracing
Spirit Lines: A Musical Reconciliation

Join us online for the next performance in Frankston Arts Centre’s Digital Series, straight from the theatre to you at home. More than 40,000 years in the making, Spirit Lines is a new musical collaboration between Mutti Mutti man Kutcha Edwards, multiple Latin Grammy winner Daniel Jauregui and percussionist Adrian Hearn, exploring the reconciliation of ancestral lines in a spirit of hope. They evoke a highly original harmony that strongly resonates at a time in which so much guise needs to be given to harmony and reconciliation.
