Fish Lane Festival is back for 2017 and bringing together the who’s who of the local music, foodie and bar community so you can dine, drink & dance the day away in South Brisbane’s most iconic laneway!

West Village Driving the Car-Free Revolution

BSB member West Village is driving the car-free revolution on Boundary St, West End with the launch of the first GoGet car share service in a residential development in Brisbane.

West Village’s fleet of 10 GoGet vehicles will put a reliable, convenient and affordable transport option on the doorstep of West End residents who wish to live car-free.

It will also be the largest GoGet pod in Brisbane.

The online service allows its members to pay only for the time they use a car; which can be hired for as little as one hour, with rates working out to between $6 to $8 per hour, including fuel and insurance.

Mother's Day Classic

This year marks the Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic’s 20th year. In 20 years the Mother’s Day Classic has raised more than $30 million for breast cancer research.

The 2017 Brisbane event will be held on Sunday 14 May 2017, from 6.00am, beginning at the Cultural Forecourt, South Bank Parklands.

is Back!  
20 & 21 May 2017

In 2017 Brisbane’s famous Paniyiri Greek Festival will mark 41 years – a landmark cultural and celebratory milestone.

More than 60,000 are expected to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Hellenic Dancers with a range of celebratory events in the lead up, and over the weekend of May 20 and 21.

What is your role at your organisation?
I am the Founder and Managing Director.

What are your key skills and responsibilities?
I’m a Senior Media and Communications strategist with more than 30 years' experience in media management, broadcast journalism and communication. My responsibilities are managing the day to day operations of the business and meeting with clients.

How many people work at your business?
We have a team of five that support the business.

What is your favourite place in the precinct?
South Bank is my favourite place. I worked at World Expo 88 and later provided live radio coverage for the ABC of opening day at South Bank in 1992. Such wonderful memories.

What do you want BSB members to know about you or your business?
We are proudly Queensland owned and operated.

What is something people wouldn’t know about your business?
Our team are also available to MC and facilitate conferences and events. We recently published a book titled “Business Presentations” designed to help you plan and prepare first class presentations that are tailored for specific listeners.

What has recently happened at your organisation?
Former ABC breakfast radio presenter Spencer Howson recently joined our team. Spencer spent 24 years at the ABC, including 15 years hosting the Number 1 ABC Brisbane breakfast show.

Spencer also writes the weekday morning email newsletter “The Gateway” for Brisbane Times and teaches the radio stars of the future at USQ Springfield campus.

What have you learnt lately?
I have learnt how to survive in a household of vegetarians.

What do you hope to achieve in your industry?
Pop Up Radio is working on a platform that is digital and in a growing industry that involves us producing and sharing intelligent content.

What inspires you?
I’m a story-teller. My entire career has been about the sharing of knowledge, using the fundamentals of text, sound and vision to reach people. I get inspired by hearing people’s stories, whether it’s about their own life or business achievements.

What are your words of wisdom?
Everyone has a story to tell. Don’t be afraid to share it.
