Hi All!

Well, it's arrived in all its glory! Or, chaos ;)

A very Happy 2021 to you and I hope you had a wonderful festive break. Mine was fab and it's the first time for many years that I took time away from work and spent some real time with my three little cherubs above (Bea, Florence and Freddie). I appreciate that Christmas can be a tad commercial but for me the magic is still there, especially when you enjoy it with little ones. To spend time with them playing, laughing and going out (safely) was the present I had wished for.

Here is my January monthly dose of “Sid Shares.” A list of what I’m enjoying and exploring. Apologies for it being late...

I'm dedicating January to 'Hopen'. It's a new word I invented (although according to our friends at Wiki "Hopen is an island in the southeastern part of the Svalbard archipelago. It was discovered in 1596 by Jan Cornelisz Rijp during the third expedition by Willem Barentsz, trying to find the Northeast Passage"). You see, we do learn something new every day!

The more I live the more I realise that it is our thinking that defines our lives. We are what we think...and what we think shapes the world around us. We are all just energy and matter, and it is our thinking (our energy) that propels us forward, or backwards depending on it being positive or negative. I sent a link last month to Google's 2019 short film and here's the one for 2020. What I love about these short films is that it reminds me that this wonderful spinning globe is all we have. And that by thinking differently we really can change the world around us. If we're 'open' to thinking that change is inevitable, and view it as a positive way to develop, then there's always 'hope' for now and the future. Hence my new word 'Hopen'.

With 'Hopen' in mind I've started doing one hour Facebook Live sessions to help change or shift our, and my thinking. It's a great way to explore why we think and do the things we do. If you fancy joining me here's the link. It's free and places are unlimited. How fun!

I recently watched a brilliant programme on Netflix about the incredibly talented Beyoncé, called Homecoming. WOW, what a programme and what an amazing example of unbelievably talented and dedicated people. It always amazes me how one person's thoughts can create such incredible beauty and creativity. If you get a spare minute give it a watch.

This wonderful poem is by Jane Baskwill called Open A Book. I LOVE reading and the joys it brings! Hope you do too...

I'm sure that 2021 will have it's challenges but let's change our thinking to accept and be open to what comes. And, be willing to see that there is hope in everything if we think and see it that way.
