The Eucharist Retreat is the culmination of preparation by families, Parish Catechists, OLG teachers and children for receiving First Holy Communion. The beautiful art piece completed at the retreat is currently in our reception and will soon move to the Church and Year 4 Classrooms. OLG Staff and I look forward to sharing this special time with our children and their families over the next two weekends. Please continue to keep our Parish/School children and their families in your prayers at this time. Eucharist Retreat Day Eucharist Retreat Eucharist Retreat Day Reports will be sent electronically at the end of this term. We are moving to a paperless reporting system this year and all parents would have received an email from Seqta with instructions regarding logins etc. Parents are able to request a paper copy of the report if they are unable to access the online platform. The Semester Reports are one of several ways of communicating with parents on their child’s progress against the West Australian Curriculum standards. Information for parents about the West Australian curriculum is available at https://parent.scsa.wa.edu.au/. Discussions about the Report can be requested either by parents or teachers. Should you wish to discuss your child’s report please organise with your child’s teacher via email for Term 3. At the end of this year we will survey parent’s thoughts on our reporting structures. Complaints and concerns regarding issues in the classroom or in the playground need to be initially communicated to the classroom teacher. If a satisfactory resolution is not found then a conversation may be held with one of the Assistant Principals, Mrs Wandek Pre-Kindy – Year 2 or Mrs Hardwicke Year 3 – 6. If after this process a satisfactory resolution is not found then the issue will be escalated to the Principal. Teachers & Assistant Principals keep me informed of issues as they are being dealt with. This process ensures that those nearest the situation are trusted to resolve it and that significant issues are dealt with quickly. Concerns that are directed to me initially by parents will be redirected to the classroom teacher. We have some staffing changes this term that have been communicated via letter to parents concerned and can now be made known generally. Due to ill health, Mrs Assunta Trichilo will not be returning to Year 3 this year. I thanks Mrs Tangifua for stepping into a full time role in Year 3 for this time.
