To take full advantage of this exclusive and free member offer, please forward details to your team. Only employees from current AMSRO member organisations are eligible to register for free. Social Media – Use and Abuse As the former rugby star Israel Folau’s sacking - and ensuing controversy - dramatically demonstrated, personal social media use and employment don't always play together nicely. Where does the line between an employee's work life and private life lie? In the digital age, does the line even exist? In this webinar we will be looking at how employment law has adapted to the internet age and more particularly, the use of social media. Fraud, Confidentiality, and RestraintsDon’t let your agency become a victim. It’s often the person you least suspect - and sometime trust the most - who has had their hand in the till. Here we will be looking at some prominent employee fraud cases and offering some tips for identifying workplace fraud. Managing difficult employees and workplace conflict Everyone has had to deal with a ‘difficult’ employee at some stage in their working life: the person who is always right, complains about everything, can’t take any criticism, can’t work in a team and makes everything about them…Sound familiar? In this webinar we look at performance management versus managing performance, minimising the risks of employee claims and how to deal with unsatisfactory workplace behaviour. Independent Contractors v Employees – The risks of getting it wrong. As the recent Uber and Foodora cases have demonstrated, the line between who is an employee and who is a genuine independent contractor can be pretty blurry. Getting it wrong could result in back-pay claims and even prosecution by the Fair Work Ombudsman for sham contracting. We will be looking at what makes a genuine contractor and how to manage the risks of engaging contractors. Additional CIE Legal services for AMSRO members include:
