"Dear Helena, Our trip was just fantastic, and we could not have enjoyed it more. Everything worked like clockwork and the organisation was first-class. We packed a lot in but the comfort of the road transport meant that the journeys in between were more relaxing than trying. Suresh, our Far Horizons driver, was outstanding -- both in efficiency and in negotiating Indian traffic while maintaining the confidence of his passengers!
We met up with Eleanor and had a delightful time with her at the halfway point. The local rep turned out with Suresh to take her from the Jodhpur hotel to the train at 5 in the morning, which was impressive.
Keoladeo was memorable – with a very good guide and lots to see. The stand-out part of the whole trip was Chhatra Sagar. We could have happily stayed a week. Harsh and Raj were perfect hosts, the understated efficiency and quality of the service was amazing, and we hugely enjoyed the little trips (up the hill for sundowners, the local farm and village (which gave us a better insight into rural India in a morning than we could have imagined) and a really good nature walk). The dam was dry as you warned us, and I can see that water would have added a lot, but we didn’t feel that we had lost out.
We were impressed that Swarup came and gave us an initial meet-and-greet and briefing at the hotel in Delhi, and that he called us halfway through to check that all was going to plan. The communication between Suresh and the successive reps and guides (and between the driver, rep and guide in Mumbai) was really good and filled us with confidence about the
It was altogether a brilliant holiday. We are so grateful to you for all your expertise and organisation, and we arrived back home (freezing temperatures and run out of heating oil!) thinking where we should go next (once we have replenished the coffers…). At the top of our list are Oman, Costa Rica and Sri Lanka. Are any of those specialities of yours? I seem to remember that Michael and Caroline Howard went to Oman organised by you.
